As you may know, not fueling up with the right nutrients can affect how well your body performs
and your overall fitness. The only difference between you and healthy eating experts is time. If you’ll invest a little more time in reading, you’ll be that much nearer to “expert” status when it comes to healthy eating.
Below are some healthy eating dos and don’ts:
1. Do not work out on an empty stomach. If your stomach is rumbling it’s trying to tell you something. Don’t force your body to run without any fuel. Before you exercise or do
any physical activity, always eat a light snack
such as an apple or yogurt.
2. Do not rely on enery bars and energy drinks. Although these are fine every once in a while, they
don’t deliver the total nutrition your body needs. Fruits and vegetables are your a better choice for energy, as they are loaded in vitamins, minerals, fluid, and fiber.
3. Do not skip breakfast. This is never a good idea, as breakfast starts you off on your day. Your body needs fuel as soon as you start going in the morning, without it, you’ll be hungry throughout the day. You’ll be more likely to binge on an unhealthy snack mid-morning if you haven’t had breakfast.
4. Do be careful with a low carb diet.
Your body needs somee carbohydrates for your muscles and the storing of energy.
5. Do not eat in excess.
Eating healthy and exercising doesn’t give you an all access pass to eat anything you want. Everyone needs the same nutrients whether they exercise or not, as well as fruits and vegetables.
6. Do consume enough calories.
Although losing weight involves taking in less calories than your body uses, losing weight too quickly is not safe. What you should do is aim for losing one to two pounds a week. Always make sure that you are getting enough calories to maintain your daily needs. If you start dropping weight too quickly you might need to eat a bit more food.
7. Do avoid carbonated beverages and alcohol. Water, low fat milk, and juice are the best to drinks for active people. You should drink often, and not require on thirst to be an indicator. By the time
you get thirsty, your body is already running a bit too low.
The healthier you eat, you better you will feel. No matter how old you may be, healthy eating is something you should strive for. Once you give it a chance, you’ll see in no time at all just how much it can imporve your life for the better.
